Our Veterinarians

Dr. Ernesto Dominguez is a BOARD CERTIFIED SPECIALIST from the American College of Veterinary Preventive Medicine, providing medical care to all types of exotic pets (small mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians, fish, and invertebrates) in the Richmond area.

Dr. Ernesto Dominguez graduated from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) School of Veterinary Medicine in 2013, and completed multiple postgraduate training programs in hospitals, wildlife centers, and zoos around the world. In 2016, Dr. Dominguez completed an internship in Raptor Medicine and Surgery at the Raptor Center at the University of Minnesota. He was the Hospital Director at The Wildlife Center of Virginia until 2020, and has since focused on providing excellent medical and surgical care to exotic pets in Richmond, Virginia.

Dr. Ernesto Dominguez has multiple scientific publications and book chapters in his curriculum. He is Board Certified Specialist by the American College of Veterinary Preventive Medicine, and is currently Co-Chair of the Conservation Committee of the Association of Avian Veterinarians, and Board Member of Bat Conservation & Rescue of Virginia. He is active in several veterinary associations, such as the Association of Reptile and Amphibian Veterinarians (ARAV), Association of Exotic Mammal Veterinarians (AEMV), the American Association of Zee Veterinarians (AAZV), and the American Association of Wildlife Veterinarians.
